Service Technician
Responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of L P Gas systems, which includes setting tanks, piping houses and/or businesses, installing appliances, and performing safety tests and inspections as required by the propane gas regulatory authorities.
Responsible for direct communication with customers, scheduling of jobs, follow up and completion of projects, and preparation of customer invoices. Employee must be at least 21 years of age and have, or obtain within ninety ( 90 )days, a valid Commercial Driver's License ( CDL ).
Employee is also required to be licensed and certified by the State LP Gas Commission.
Machines, Tools & Equipment:
Operation of company vehicle, crane, trencher, and pipe fitting tools.
Worker Traits:
Physical ability to load and unload tanks, crawl underneath houses, and to work in all types of weather.
Verbal ability to communicate effectively with customers and explain the work to be performed.
Numerical ability to prepare activity reports and customer invoices.
Temperaments:
Employee must have the ability to plan, control and direct all activities of the service department. Tact is required to deal effectively with customers and other employees. Clear thinking and mental concentration is required in the handling hazardous materials.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Job requires lifting and bending. Relatively all of our service calls are at the customer's residence or place of business, which requires driving or riding in a vehicle.
Hazards:
Employee will be working with liquefied petroleum gas ( propane ) which is classified as a hazardous material. The propane industry is regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Fire Prevention Association ( NFPA ) regulations, as recorded in the code of the Federal Register ( NFPA 54 and NFPA 58 ).
